Laury is a fine-arts–trained live wedding illustrator in France, working under Laehui Studio. Based in Biarritz, in the South West of France, she travels nationwide to create refined live guest portraits and bespoke wedding artwork.

Her work is grounded in extensive professional experience as a full-time illustrator, complemented by a Master of Fine Arts from one of Europe’s most selective art schools, the Beaux-Arts de Paris, renowned for its tradition and excellence. Each portrait is created with the eye of a fine artist rather than a live caricaturist, resulting in timeless keepsakes that feel refined, personal, and worthy of framing.

Having lived between France, the USA, and South Korea, Laury works seamlessly with international couples and guests. Her English is fully fluent.

How it works:

• Arrival and set-up of the space 30min to an hour before the arrival of the guests.
• Guests are quickly photographed
• Illustrations are created from reference photos while the celebration continues.
• Portraits are displayed, then packaged for guests to take home.

How fast can you paint the guests?

Watercolor portraits will take approximately 7 to 12 minutes per portrait, depending on facial features, outfit complexity, and level of detail. It allows an average of 5 to 8 portraits per hour. Pencil or pen portraits generally take 4 to 5 minutes per portrait, allowing for an average of 10 to 15 portraits per hour. Please note that this pace is standard for live illustration at this level of finish, as maintaining quality requires sufficient execution time. As Laehui Studio is operated by a single artist, collaborations with other professional live illustrators during big weddings are entirely possible. Additional guest portraits may also be completed after the wedding or event in the studio. Certain packages offer a special pricing for those weddings.

Can the paper be personalized ?

Of course! Several customization options are available, such as deckled edges (hand-torn paper edges), custom stamps or monograms, dates, names printed at the top or bottom of the paper, pre-printed bespoke illustrated backgrounds or borders, kraft envelopes, and more. Laehui Studio originally began as an illustration and illustrated stationery studio, so great care is given to these finishing touches. All customized elements are printed by a professional printer to ensure high-quality results. Please note that some options require approval 1–2 months in advance.

What is included?

Each package includes professional high-quality art materials, protective sleeves or envelopes, A4 informational sign for guests, complimentary detailed watercolor portrait of the couple (for full-day packages), and setup time is included and not counted as on-site time. Packages offer from 3 to 8 continuous hours on-site presence.

What do we need to provide?

Please provide a table of at least 1 meter and desk height, a chair with a backrest. Optional, but appreciated: a power outlet nearby for longer services and decorations, especially flower arrangements, are always appreciated!
