Specialised in intimate destination weddings and luxury elopement and established in 2013.
Renate is a professional photographer specialised in capturing destination weddings throughout western Europe that are as lavish as they are intimate, serving couples who envision a beautiful celebration with their absolute favourite people.
My photography style is light and airy, with a focus on capturing natural moments, so the authentic connections of my couples who get married in epic locations can be remembered through fine art wedding albums and bespoke wall art. I love to work with brides and grooms, and to enable you to have a visual reminder within your home of your Europe wedding memories.
I have a background in theatre, travel, visual culture, directing and storytelling, won multiple awards, traveled to 40+ states and have been photographing destination weddings (in 17 different countries) for the last 8 years. Although I am based in London and The Netherlands, the majority of my weddings take place in France and Italy…
Wit Photography have shot at venues like The Ritz Paris, Shangri-La Paris, Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild, Château Saint Georges, Château Hattonchatel, Château de Lisse, Villa Sola Cabiati (Lake Como), Villa Balbianello (Como), Castello di Potentino (Tuscany, Italy), Villa Cimbrone (Amalfi, Italy), Castell d’Emporda (Spain), The Romanos Luxury Collection Resort (Greece), Palacio de Estoi (Algarve, Portugal) and The Ritz Penha Longa Resort (Lisbon, Portugal). We love to travel and would love to capture your special day in your dream location.
We have won multiple awards and have been very proud to have been published in Elle, Condé Nast Brides (USA), The Knot Magazine (USA), Style Me Pretty, Wedding Chicks, One Fab Day (UK), Rock My Wedding (UK), Great Destination Wedding Magazine (Australia), Norwegian Wedding magazine, national Dutch television as well as news websites like The Telegraph and Nu.nl (Netherlands) and many others.
I’m the kind of wedding photographer that believes that the most important thing of a wedding is that you enjoy yourselves and have the most epic day possible. I wouldn’t dream of bothering you with posing while you’re cutting the cake or during your ceremony. If you make sure you enjoy yourself, we will ensure you'll look your best in your photos (without interference).
For me the photo session part of a wedding is a moment where you two can have a bit of down time and I’ll do my best to create memories. This means I might give you a little assignment like doing a little dance or whisper something in each others ear, but I’m not interested in creating a forced smile and an uncomfortable pose. Please do get in touch if you feel we have the same vision for your big day.
